Dr Antony Hermuzi is a consultant paediatric and adult congenital cardiologist at the Freeman Hospital’s Children’s Heart Unit where he specialises in congenital catheter intervention, transcatheter pulmonary valve implantation, heart failure in congenital heart disease, single ventricle physiology and mechanical circulatory support.

Dr Hermuzi was educated at University of Newcastle upon Tyne. He trained in paediatrics in the Yorkshire and Northern Deaneries and then congenital cardiology in Newcastle upon Tyne.

He undertook additional training in congenital heart disease and cardiac catheterisation at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada (2014-2015) and a post CCT fellowship in congenital catheter intervention at Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (2016-2017).

He was appointed as Consultant Paediatric and ACHD Cardiologist at Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne in 2017.

Dr Hermuzi is an Associate Clinical Lecturer at Newcastle University, member of the British Congenital Cardiac Association, Association for European Paediatric Cardiology and the Paediatric Interventional Cardiology Early career society
